TL;DR: A new file upload question type lets respondents attach files to form submissions. You can restrict file types (images, documents, video, etc.), set size limits, and allow single or multiple uploads per question.
#What's new
Forms can now include file upload questions. Respondents drag and drop or browse to attach files — documents, images, videos, spreadsheets, or anything else you allow.
#Configuration options
Each file upload question has a few settings:
- Allowed file types — restrict by category (image, document, video, audio, archive, spreadsheet, presentation) or allow all types
- Max file size — set a per-file size limit (up to 10MB on free, 100MB on Pro)
- Max number of files — allow single or multiple file uploads per question
- Required / optional — like any other question type
#Use cases
File uploads open up form types that weren't possible before:
- Job applications — collect resumes and cover letters alongside structured questions
- Bug reports — let users attach screenshots or screen recordings
- Insurance claims — gather supporting documentation with the initial report
- Design feedback — respondents upload files for review
- Event registration — collect headshots, presentation slides, or dietary restriction documents
#How files are stored
Uploaded files are stored securely in Polyform's file storage. You can download them from the response detail view in the dashboard, or access them via the API and webhooks for automated processing.
#Availability
File upload questions are available on all plans. Size limits vary by plan — 10MB per file on free, up to 100MB on Pro.
