TL;DR: Polyform now supports real-time collaborative editing. Multiple team members can work on the same form at once, with live presence indicators showing who's editing which page.
#How it works
When two or more people open the same form in the builder, they see each other's presence — who's online, which page they're viewing, and their cursor activity. Changes sync in real time, so everyone sees the latest version without refreshing.
This means:
- No more "I'm editing this, don't touch it" messages — you can see who's where
- No version conflicts — changes merge automatically
- Faster iteration — one person writes questions while another configures logic or theming
#Presence indicators
Each collaborator gets a presence marker showing:
- Their name and avatar
- Which page they're currently viewing
- Whether they're on a question page or a final page
This prevents stepping on each other's work. If someone is actively editing page 3, you can work on page 7 without worry.
#Built on Convex
Real-time sync is powered by Convex, our backend. Changes are written to the database and propagated to all connected clients within milliseconds. There's no polling interval or manual refresh — it's genuinely live.
#Team setup
To collaborate, invite team members from your team settings. They'll have access to all forms in the team and can edit any form in the builder. The free plan supports up to 3 team members, and Pro supports up to 5.
#Availability
Real-time collaboration is available on all plans.
